Agency Reports Submitted to the General Assembly

Section 101.68(B) of the Revised Code requires that when reports must be submitted to the General Assembly, copies of the reports must be submitted to the Director of the Legislative Service Commission (LSC). Section 101.68(C) requires LSC to monthly inform each member of the General Assembly of the reports received. Below is the annotated bibliography of reports recently submitted to LSC. The bibliography, compiled by the LSC Library staff, also includes other documents that may be of interest to legislators. AGRICULTURE, OHIO. DEPT. OF

ANNUAL REPORT, 2018-2019, 122 pages

Describes the Department's role in the H2Ohio initiative and the launch of Growing Ohio (a magazine); reviews the annual activity in the Department's major areas of responsibility: plant and animal life, food supply, consumer services (amusement ride and weights and measures), conservation (soil, water, and livestock enironmental permitting), and rural Ohio programs (historic family farms, farmland preservation, and grape industry); includes Ohio Agricultural Statistics 2018-2019 prepared by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agriculture Statistics Service that contain numerous statistics about crop production and livestock industry, and provides county summaries.

Report required by R.C. 109.97(B); provides a legislative history of capital punishment in Ohio; explains the statutes, executive clemency review, the law as it relates to individuals with intellectual disabilities, and DNA testing; presents statistics and demographic characteristics about individuals receiving death sentences; includes case history sheets for every case that resulted in a death sentence since 1981, noting state and federal procedural events; reports that as of December 31, 2019, 335 individuals received a death sentence (340 total death sentences because certain individuals received two sentences), 56 executions were carried out, and notes there are 143 active death sentences.
