Section 101.68(B) of the Revised Code requires that when reports must be submitted to the General Assembly, copies of the reports must be submitted to the Director of the Legislative Service Commission (LSC). Section 101.68(C) requires LSC to monthly inform each member of the General Assembly of the reports received. Below is the annotated bibliography of reports recently submitted to LSC. The bibliography, compiled by the LSC Library staff, also includes other documents that may be of interest to legislators. SUMMARY OF FINDINGS FROM THE 2020-2021 AQUATIC LIFE AND WATER QUALITY SURVEY OF OHIO'S LARGE RIVERS, July 2023, 126 pages
During the 2020 and 2021 field seasons, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) conducted a biological census of large rivers across the state for water quality, sediment chemistry, and whole-body fish tissue for contaminant analysis. The census used 156 sites spaced at intervals of approximately 8.8 miles, to obtain a complete picture of the status of Ohio’s large rivers to serve as baseline for future comparisons and to gauge progress in water quality improvements relative to prior surveys, and to identify the major remaining stressors impacting water quality and biological condition. The survey contains maps and charts illustrating chemical and biological conditions and trends.
