Agency Reports Submitted to the General Assembly

Section 101.68(B) of the Revised Code requires that when reports must be submitted to the General Assembly, copies of the reports must be submitted to the Director of the Legislative Service Commission (LSC). Section 101.68(C) requires LSC to monthly inform each member of the General Assembly of the reports received. Below is the annotated bibliography of reports recently submitted to LSC. The bibliography, compiled by the LSC Library staff, also includes other documents that may be of interest to legislators. PROPOSAL FOR STATEWIDE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AS ENACTED BY OHIO SENATE BILL 135, 2023, 28 pages

Report required by Section 3 of S.B. 135 of the 134th General Assembly; prepared by the Ohio Department of Education’s (ODE) State Superintendent of Public Instruction, in consultation with the Chancellor of the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE), Director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS), and other stakeholders; evaluates current apprenticeship operational policies and programs, and the laws and regulations governing the programs; considers the goals outlined in S.B. 135 to make 34 recommendations to create a statewide apprenticeship program for high school students on a pathway to employment or post-secondary education, including recruiting and evaluating student participants, funding to participating schools and businesses, and creating a curriculum to earn and transfer credits to post-secondary partners.
