Agency Reports Submitted to the General Assembly

Section 101.68(B) of the Revised Code requires that when reports must be submitted to the General Assembly, copies of the reports must be submitted to the Director of the Legislative Service Commission (LSC). Section 101.68(C) requires LSC to monthly inform each member of the General Assembly of the reports received. Below is the annotated bibliography of reports recently submitted to LSC. The bibliography, compiled by the LSC Library staff, also includes other documents that may be of interest to legislators. Report required by R.C. 3313.818 and required to use the following data measures: (1) number of students and participation rates in the free and reduced-price breakfast program for each school building, (2) type of breakfast model used by each school building taking part in the breakfast program, (3) number of students and participation rates in free or reduced-price lunch for each school building; the Department reports that the breakfast and lunch programs changed delivery methods due to COVID-19 starting in March 2020 and continuing into the 2021-2022 school year, creating disparate data sets; for this report the Department indicates the most reliable measures are from October 2019 through February 2020 and that data is used; presents statistics about participation in the school breakfast and lunch program and provides some historical comparisons, noting in the 2020-2021 school year 3,612 Ohio schools offer U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) nutrition programs with more than 89% of these schools operating both the School Breakfast Program and National School Lunch Program (the percentage of schools operating the programs is not available for the 2021-2022 school year report); complete statistics for each school building is available at: http://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Student-Supports/Food-and-Nutrition/Resources-and-Tools-for-Food-and-Nutrition/MR81-Data-for-Free-and-Reduced-Price-Meal-Eligibil.

RENEWABLE PORTFOLIO STANDARD REPORT TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY BY THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION OF OHIO FOR THE 2020 COMPLIANCE YEAR, December 2021, 12 pages

Report required by R.C. 4928.64; addresses compliance activities in meeting benchmarks for renewable energy resources, solar, and nonsolar, describes the average annual renewable energy credits costs purchased by utilities and companies, and describes reported strategies for utility and company compliance or activities to encourage the use of renewable energy resources to satisfy the state's electricity demand. Prior to the 2020 compliance year, Ohio's Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) included a specific annual solar requirement. That solar requirement has since been eliminated, but solar resources still can be applied to the overall renewable requirement.
