Section 101.68(B) of the Revised Code requires that when reports must be submitted to the General Assembly, copies of the reports must be submitted to the Director of the Legislative Service Commission (LSC). Section 101.68(C) requires LSC to monthly inform each member of the General Assembly of the reports received. Below is the annotated bibliography of reports recently submitted to LSC. The bibliography, compiled by the LSC Library staff, also includes other documents that may be of interest to legislators. Report required by Section 733.51 of H.B. 436 of the 133rd General Assembly (2019-2020); a cost analysis to determine the financial costs incurred by school districts to implement universal screening, identification and remediation services that comply with Ohio's dyslexia support laws; makes five recommendations: (1) employ universal screening with brief, short-cycle assessments, (2) invest in strengthening core reading and literacy curriculum, (3) use diagnostic assessment data to match students to evidence based targeted interventions, (4) apply progress monitoring, and (5) consider special education services only after intensive, individualized interventions fail; includes charts briefly summarizing projected costs for implementing each recommendation; separate appendix is a detailed cost analysis of recommendations implemented in four Ohio districts: Clermont Northeastern Schools, Cincinnati Public Schools, Marysville Exempted Village School District, and Upper Arlington City Schools.
ANNUAL REPORT ON OHIO MEANS INTERNSHIPS AND CO-OPS PROGRAM, December 3, 2021, 10 pages
Report required by R.C. 3333.041; reports as directed by the statute on the academic and economic impact of Ohio's co-op/internship program and includes specific information about: (1) the progress and performance metrics for each initiative that received an award in the previous fiscal year, (2) economic indicators of the impact of each initiative, and all initiatives as a whole, on the regional economies and the statewide economy, and (3) the Chancellor's strategy in allocating awards among state institutions of higher education and how the actual awards fit that strategy; states in this fiscal year, the Ohio Department of Higher Education did not receive an Ohio Means Internships & Co-ops (OMIC) appropriation and made no awards, but previous awards are "still having an influence in student placements, as well as an economic impact;" includes tables that demonstrate the total placements at colleges from 2014 to the present and the major industries and occupations where colleges placed students.
