Agency Reports Submitted to the General Assembly

Section 101.68(B) of the Revised Code requires that when reports must be submitted to the General Assembly, copies of the reports must be submitted to the Director of the Legislative Service Commission (LSC). Section 101.68(C) requires LSC to monthly inform each member of the General Assembly of the reports received. Below is the annotated bibliography of reports recently submitted to LSC. The bibliography, compiled by the LSC Library staff, also includes other documents that may be of interest to legislators. AUDITOR OF STATE, OHIO.

PERFORMANCE AUDIT: UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION, OHIO DEPARTMENT OF JOB AND FAMILY SERVICES, September 23, 2021, 138 pages

Required by H.B. 614 of the 133rd General Assembly; created the Unemployment Compensation Modernization and Review Council and required a performance audit of the unemployment compensation system with regards to demands due to the COVID-19 pandemic; audit answers 18 questions identified by the legislation; makes six recommendations and identifies five issues for further study to assist the Department in increasing "efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency."

ANNUAL REPORT, 2021, 60 pages

Reviews the Department's divisions and their responsibilities; explains Department's priorities, objectives, and accomplishments for the period, including the preparation of a COVID-19 pandemic toolkit to provide guidance to consumers and those in the insurance industry; describes changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic; includes tables of summary financial information for the year ending December 31, 2020, for life insurance companies, fraternal benefit societies, health insuring companies, multiple employer welfare arrangements, mutual protective associations-property, fire and casualty companies, and title companies.

ANNUAL REPORT FISCAL YEAR 2021, 12 pages

Report required by R.C. 4117.02; the purpose is to collect data on various aspects of health insurance, plan design, and cost for government entities; the data was collected through Novi Survey, an online survey tool; data from 1,266 completed surveys with information about 2,067 health insurance plans available to public sector employees in Ohio is summarized in the report; report presents information for both single and family coverage; the survey was limited to the collection of data from up to three medical and prescriptions plans per employer and one for dental, vision, and life insurance plans; data presented represents public sector health insurance plans in effect on January 1, 2021.
