Qualifications
Governor appoints 1 member to represent academia, 1 to represent the public who is not employed by the state or any of its political subdivisions and who does not have a pecuniary interest in household sewage treatment systems, 1 who is a registered professional engineer employed by the Environmental Protection Agency, 1 selected from among soil scientists in the Division of Soil and Water Conservation in the Department of Natural Resources, and 1 representative of a statewide organization representing townships. House Speaker appoints 1 health commissioner who is a member of and recommended by the Ohio Association of Health Commissioners (OAHC), 1 to represent the interests of sewage treatment systems manufacturers, 1 who is a registered sanitarian under Ohio law and a member of the Ohio Environmental Health Association, and 1 registered professional engineer with experience in sewage treatment systems. Senate President appoints 1 health commissioner who is a member of and recommended by the OAHC, 1 to represent the interests of sewage treatment systems manufacturers, 1 to represent installers and service providers, and 1 registered professional engineer with experience in sewage treatment systems. Director of Health, or Director's designee, is a member.
