H.B. 670, 121st G.A. changed "Commission" to "Council." S.B. 345 of the 129th G.A. requires the Council to study and make recommendations regarding the authority of the State Highway Patrol Retirement Board to adjust employee contribution rates.
Qualifications
3 appointed by Governor with advice and consent of Senate: 1 to represent educational employers and their employees, 1 to represent the state and its employees, and 1 to represent nonstate governments and their employees, not more than 2 of the same political party; 3 members of the Senate appointed by the Senate President, not more than 2 of the same political party; and 3 members of the House appointed by the House Speaker, not more than 2 of the same political party. At least 1 of the Governor's appointees must have investment expertise. Ex officio (nonvoting): Executive Director of SERS, Executive Director of STRS, Executive Director of OPERS, Executive Secretary of Police and Fire Pension Fund, and Secretary of State Highway Patrol Retirement Board.
