Chairperson must be a managing officer of the Department of Youth Services and be one of the members who has experience in criminal justice, juvenile justice, or an equivalent relevant profession.
Qualifications
Director of Youth Services appoints members who have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent relevant experience and have the skills, training, or experience necessary to analyze issues of law, administration, and public policy. At least 1 member must have 5 or more years of experience in criminal justice, juvenile justice, or an equivalent relevant profession; at least 1 member must have experience in victim services or advocacy or must have been, or be a family member of, a crime victim; and at least 1 member must have experience in direct care services to delinquent children. The Authority's membership must represent, insofar as practicable, the diversity found in children in the legal custody of the Department of Youth Services.
