4 appointed by Governor: 2 from each major political party, not less than 2 of whom are attorneys admitted to practice in Ohio; 4 appointed by Supreme Court, 2 from each major political party, not less than 2 of whom shall be attorneys admitted to practice of law in Ohio. Governor appoints chairperson with advice and consent of the Senate; must be admitted to practice of law in Ohio. No prosecuting attorney, city director of law, or similar officers or their assistants or employees, judges, or court employees can serve on the Commission or on any county or joint county public defender commission.
