The licensing functions of the Board are scheduled to expire under R.C. 101.62 on 12/31/2024.
Qualifications
6 members must be licensed psychologists, licensed independent school psychologist, or licensed school psychologists. These members are to be chosen to represent diverse fields of specialization and practice in the profession of psychology, independent school psychology, and school psychology. 3 members must be patient advocates who are not mental health professionals and who either (a) are parents or other relatives of a person who has received or is receiving mental health services or (b) are representatives of organizations that represent persons who have received or are receiving mental health services. At least 1 patient advocate member must be a parent or relative of a mental health services recipient, and at least one patient advocate member must be a representative of an organization representing mental health service recipients. All members must be citizens of the U.S. and residents of the state. The Governor may make appointments from lists submitted annually by the Ohio Psychological Association, Ohio School Psychologists Association, and the Ohio Association of Black Psychologists. No member may serve more than 2 successive terms. 1 member must be a certified Ohio Behavior Analyst.
