Qualifications
President of the State Medical Board must appoint 3 physician assistants and 3 physicians. Of the physicians, 1 must be a member of the State Medical Board, 1 must be appointed from a list of 5 physicians recommended by the Ohio State Medical Association, and 1 must be appointed from a list of 5 physicians recommended by the Ohio Osteopathic Association. At all times, at least 1 of the physician members must be a supervising physician of a physician assistant, preferably with at least 2 years' experience as a supervising physician. The physician assistants must be appointed from a list of 5 persons recommended by the Ohio Association of Physician Assistants. President of the State Medical Board must appoint one member who is not affiliated with any health care profession to represent consumer interests. President of State Medical Board appoints 1 pharmacist from a list of 5 clinical pharmacists recommended by the Ohio Pharmacists Association or a pharmacist member of the State Board of Pharmacy, preferably a clinical pharmacist. This pharmacist member serves only when the Committee is developing or revising policy and procedures for physician-delegated prescriptive authority for physician assistants. No member listed above may serve more than 3 consecutive terms.
