The Board of Directors was to wrap up the affairs of the Ohio Health Reinsurance Program by December 31, 2014. So it appears to be defunct. Section 610.51 of HB 49 of the 132nd GA amended Section 3 of S.B 9 of the 130th GA, extending the suspension of the related laws from 2018 to 2022. If reestablished in 2022, it will expire under Sunset Review Law on 12/31/2020.

Chair of Senate committee with jurisdiction over insurance matters appoints 2 member carriers that are small employer carriers, 1 member carrier that is a health insuring corporation predominately in the small employer market, and 1 member to represent health care providers. Chair of House committee with jurisdiction over insurance matters appoints 1 member carrier that is a small employer carrier, 1 member carrier whose principal health insurance business is the large employer market, 1 member to represent an employer with 50 or fewer employees, and 1 representative of Ohio consumers. House Speaker appoints 1 House member, and Senate President appoints 1 Senate member. Superintendent of Insurance is a member and appoints a representative of a member carrier operating in the small employer market who is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
