Qualifications
Governor appoints 5 representatives from general public who must have extensive experience in issues related to fatherhood. Senate President appoints 2 Senate members, each from a different political party, and House Speaker appoints 4 House members, not more than 2 from same political party. Two of these House members and 1 of these Senate members must be from districts that include a county or part of one that is among the one-third of Ohio counties with the highest number per capita of households headed by females. Chief Justice of the Supreme Court appoints 1 representative of the judicial branch. Chairperson of the Ohio Family and Children First Cabinet Council appoints 1 representative of the Council. The Governor, the Directors of Children and Youth, Mental Health and Addiction Services, Health, Rehabilitation and Correction, and Youth Services, and the Superintendent of Public Instruction, or their designees, are members.
