Qualifications
12 appointed by Governor with advice and consent of Senate: persons with a knowledge of and continuing interest in the affairs and welfare of the older citizens of Ohio. Fields of labor, health, law, business, and human services must be represented. A majority must have reached the age of 50. Must represent all areas of Ohio. Not more than 7 of the same political party. 4 from General Assembly: 2 appointed by President of Senate, from different political parties; 2 appointed by Speaker, from different political parties. Ex officio: Directors of Medicaid, Mental Health and Addiction Services, Developmental Disabilities, Health, and Job and Family Services, or their designees.
