Qualifications
The Authority consists of its chief, a field services section, and a Parole Board. Director of Rehabilitation and Correction appoints the chief of the Authority, one or more superintendents of the field services section, and the chairperson of the Parole Board, all of whom serve at the Director's pleasure. No person may be appointed chief of the Authority who is not qualified by education or experience in correction work, including law enforcement, probation, or parole, in law, in social work, or in a combination of these. The Authority is an administrative unit of the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
